Dear Students,

On behalf of the University Ministry Team, I would like to extend a very warm North Park welcome to all new students as well as all returning students. It is our hope that through engagement with University Ministries you will be able to develop a dynamic Christian worldview that integrates your faith in God with the way you live and learn. Because we believe that you are each uniquely gifted, we seek to provide opportunities and challenges that are designed to help you discover and hone your gifts and talents for “the glory of God and your neighbors’ good.” It is our sincere hope that these experiences will create opportunities to worship, serve, and grow in your faith.

Get your Worship on and be Transformed! We invite you to join us for times of passionate worship services in Chapel on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am and College Life on Sunday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:30pm, both services are in Anderson Chapel. You will also have numerous opportunities to put your faith into action locally through Urban Outreach and nationally (Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Alaska) and globally to places like Finland, Thailand, Puerto Rico, India, Honduras, Mexico, Spain and Zambia through Global Partnerships. Through our Life Groups you will grow deeper in your relationship with God in the community of your fellow students as you do life together. Finally, Sankofa, our Christ-centered racial reconciliation program is designed to help you grow in your intercultural competency. This is achieved through traveling together to key historic sites, engaging in deep conversations, and ultimately taking an honest look at the important past decisions and attitudes that shaped and continue to shape our present inequities so that together we can strive to redress past wrongs and create a more just world for all.

Rise up! Our theme this year is INFUSED, short for infused with the Spirit of God. We will endeavor to explore what it means to go beyond ourselves and powerfully live out spirit-infused lives. No matter where you are on your faith journey, the University Ministries team is committed to creating a safe, dynamic, and loving environment where all students can discern and live out the next step in their spiritual development. Through life’s twists and turns, we seek to walk with you as you walk with God.

So whether you are a new or returning student, we invite you to take some risks by getting involved in something and see what the Lord has in store for you this year.

Welcome and may your year be full of life-changing adventures!
